GAN'S BATTLES- warfare is inevitable in the Lord's army!!

Dear Fellow Soldiers & Saints,
To be in the Lord's army is a great privilege and we are grateful to be counted worthy to be a part of it these many years. Experiencing victory through the power of God these many years have brought great encouragement and joy to us as an immediate family and also as a wider family in the body of Christ. However there were times when the battle is rough and difficult. The only way forward is to stick to the Lord and move ahead in His great strength and power. His Spirit that indwells us give us great hope and boldness to make a stand for our faith and future. "THIS IS OUR GOD THE SERVANT KING, WHO CALLS US NOW TO FOLLOW HIM, TO BRING OUR LIVES AS A DAILY OFFERING, AND WORSHIP TO THE SERVANT KING"

THE PAST MONTHS
Personal Battles; With decisions, with extra loads of responsibilities, with the need for personnel and finance, and with higher expectations. This is true for both Bee Lee and myself. As they say, its sometimes easier to throw down the towels and do something else rather than take up your shield and march forward towards the enemy. In this case it is not people but the unseen enemy of the soul and of spiritual darkness.

The battle will go on but that's part of what we call "Victory". Without battles we will never experience Victory in the true sense of the word. So, VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIVING, simply means that we must be ready for battles, and be fit for it.

Since our last newsletter Kenny took many meetings in the UK, West Malaysia, Japan, Singapore and Australia. The Lord is gracious in opening more doors and helping to build longer and lasting relationships with people and churches. (Churches in Malaysia, Japan and Australia have all given an invitation to return for more ministry) There were many possibilities of discipling and mentoring in an informal basis even though distance may separate us. Its always encouraging to hear couples restoring and strengthening their relationships, men and women getting more excited about the Lord and are walking closer to him. The amazing thing is that the Lord is touching men and women of all ages. Praise Him Indeed!! I just got an e-mail saying the men are growing in their walk with God and are taking bolder steps towards their responsibility as head of the house and as fathers.

Battling Future Steps- While considering future possibilities Kenny avail himself to take on the Field Leadership of OM Singapore, but after much discussion and prayer it was felt that the move may not be the best for the time being. As a result the decision was made for us to continue with ICT London and to allow Debbie to at least finish her A level education. This means also having the discipline to persevere on with the battle of routine life and demands.

Battling Emotions- Within the wider family of OM we have had many lost of lives, some through accidents, some through sickness and some through the aging process. At times like these we are learning not to try to understand the Sovereignty of God but to just accept it. Whether we can understand His Sovereignty or not, He is still in charge and His plans and purposes are still the best.

Battling Personnel and Financial Needs- Like everything else this is an ongoing battle. Its becoming more and more difficult to get men and women to serve, especially behind the scene, the unglamorous secretarial and administrative role. Giving towards these roles are not highly motivating since it is not very measurable, But, without them we can hardly function in the front line. Secretarial and administrative support is a crucial as those in the frontline., we are part of the same body fulfilling each function faithfully as unto the Lord.

Battling the machinery- Computers can be an incredible blessing as a servant but they are terrible as a master. We are paralyzed when they stop functioning. Bee Lee has just taken yet another role after she went through the OM Linux Systems course. Though she enjoyed the course she now realized that the responsibility can be cumbersome. Its yet another challenge, another battle added on to the many other battles that are already there.

Battling an Ongoing Educational Challenge- Just so you know, this is now Debbie's corner.

Some of you may know that this summer, I manage to use up alot of my time going to Teen Street, TIM (Teens in Missions) as well as MTO (Missionary Teens Only). I had so much fun that I don't think I'll be able to tell you everything in this little corner so if you're at all curious, feel free to write me or e-mail me.

Well, from my point of view, my 'A' levels are going well so far. Some of my first exams are in January, after Christmas so your prayers for that are much appreciated. Other than that, I have been getting a little bit more involved with extra curriculum activities, which is quite exciting but also somewhat time consuming. Also, some of you might know that I have started driving lessons... don't worry, I haven't broken anything or knock any houses down... yet. haha, no, I'm doing ok, I think. I haven't driven that much but I still have a long way to go on my theory so, again, I'd appreciate prayers on that. Thank you for all you prayer and support. Blessings. Always.

Keep in Touch,
Kenny, Bee Lee and Debbie Gan
